Back 2 School America Goes to Phoenix

Trivia Night Nets $1,500+

Kobalt Bar in Phoenix was host to a Back 2 School America event on June 29. The theme of the evening was a “Golden Girls” Trivia night, “Fun for a Cause,” where all proceeds went to B2SA. The bar was packed and over $1,500 was raised for the organization. Those funds will be used to provide Back 2 School kits to students in Maricopa County, Arizona. We were also grateful for the coverage from AZ Family 3/CBS 5 TV. Special thanks go to Kobalt Managing Partner, Jeff Perales for making this a memorable night for us and for the kids who will be getting one of our kits.

Back 2 School America Build-A-Kit in New York

500 B2SA Kits Assembled

In May, we were in New York City, as the Financial Service Centers of New York (FSCNY) participated in a Back 2 School America (B2SA) Build-A-Kit event. The build took place at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge for FSCNY’s annual conference and expo. Volunteers assembled 500 signature kits, and FSCNY purchased an additional 500 kits through B2SA’s Buy-A-Kit program. In total, 1,000 B2SA kits went to the NYC Coalition for the Homeless, the nation’s oldest advocacy and direct service organization, which helps homeless men, women and children.

FSCNY is the Industry’s leading voice on legislative, regulatory and business issues, and a staunch advocate for the rights of consumers to access basic financial services in New York.

We are gratified to be able to continue our expansion around the country through our partnership with B2SA and help those in need with our school supply kits.

Back 2 School America Goes to Windcrest, Texas

1,000 Kits Distributed

On August 11, we went deep in the heart of Texas as part of our continued official summer launch of Back 2 School America. CentroMed distributed 1,000 of our Back 2 School kits in Windcrest, a city just outside of San Antonio. It was a festive day with carnival rides, music, free snacks, arts & crafts, and more.
CentroMed is an integrated primary care clinic that provides pediatrics, family medicine, women’s health, dental care, optometry, pharmacy, fitness and much more. The 1,000 kits were given to families that use CentroMed’s services as well as other low-income families in the surrounding communities. Major support for the program (including a tremendous group of volunteers) was provided by Rackspace.

Back 2 School America Launches

Arizona Build-A-Kit

We are excited to have the official launch of Back 2 School America (B2SA)! B2SA wishes to create and support educational opportunities that enrich the lives of children across the USA.
The first B2SA Build-A-Kit took place on August 3 in Phoenix, AZ. Two companies, Studio MA, a leading architecture and design firm, and Alexander Building Company, partnered to assemble 640 Back 2 School kits. The Build-A-Kit was a huge success, and all of the school supplies will go to the underserved Maryvale students.
