Administrative Manager
Born and raised in Germany, after High School Susanne went through the German Banking system as an apprentice with a major in private investment banking at Deutsche Bank. After continuing her education for her diploma at Bankakademie, she became formally trained as an Options Principal (Series 3) and helped build up the Options and Futures market in Germany on the private investment side for Commerzbank.
Since 1992 Susanne moved to Chicago where she worked for a private trader and later at the German Consulate. She gave up her career to raise her kids and to guide and support them through school. She strongly believes in public education. Her boys went through the CPS system where she got actively involved with her school’s PTA to fundraise for a second Kindergarten teaching position.
When her kids went to High School, she started to work at the Driehaus School of Business at DePaul University as an international business and events coordinator and administrator.
Since 2001 Susanne became involved as a volunteer on the advisory board of the Dankhaus, 501 c 3 and she served on the Board from 2006 until 2011 and again from 2017 until 2018. Currently, she supports her organization as volunteer Chair of the Program Committee.
In her leisure time, you can find her sailing on the lake or biking and running on the paths training for a triathlon.
Susanne Mickey is excited to be joining Back 2 School as a business administrator and is looking forward to supporting the organization with her skill set.
